This past summer, we felt a little silly when the window air-conditioner we neglected to properly install leaked a gallon of water onto our parquet floor and caused it to swell and buckle. Lesson learned! Next time we think of cutting corners--or more likely, cut corners again and have to buy some flooring--we're going to Green Depot, our bid for this year's best hardware store.
