Description

Named after the 1937 antiwar classic by Jean Renoir, the Grand Illusion has been around since 1970, when it was converted from a dentist's office into the Movie House by impresario Randy Finley. The nonprofit Northwest Film Forum took over the GI from 1997 to 2004, when it was spun off by a cadre of projectionists and film lovers associated with NWFF and nearby Scarecrow Video. Today, the cozy 70-seat cinema is a member-run nonprofit that plays repertory, indie, and foreign fare.
