When a Scottsdale storefront is successful for several years based on the taste of its toffee alone, you know it has to be good – too good, or GoodyTwos in this case. The mother-daughter company describes its sweet treats as “1 part crunchy-cozy, 1 part oh-no-you-didn’t,” which captures the playful nature of the sugary confections on the menu. There are twelve flavors to choose from, six traditional and six contemporary. Recognizable combinations include Traditional Dark with a classic duo of Madagascar-Bourbon vanilla and dark chocolate sprinkled with almonds, as well as Crème de la Crunch with pecans, almonds, coffee liqueur, and smooth white chocolate. Wilder toffee creations are also available, like the 2 Alarm Peanut Brittle made with pure cane sugar, vanilla, Spanish peanuts, artisan beer, cayenne peppers, and chili powder, or the sweet and salty Twozels with clusters of pretzels, kettle corn, and roasted almonds drizzled with toffee and milk and white chocolates.

Remember Adam Ant's catchy lyrics, "don't drink, don't smoke, what do you do?" Apparently, make toffee good enough to replace a morning quickie. Mother-daughter team Donna Gabrilson and Stacey Barnes of Scottsdale's Goody Twos Toffee Company wield a double-edge sword of deliciousness. Their handmade confections come in traditional flavors, including peanut brittle, chocolate peppermint, and the crunchy Double-Crossed (almonds and milk, dark, and white chocolates). Daughter Stacey corrupted... More »
