This Upper West Side eatery is the epitome of homey. First, there is chef/owner Carrie Levin's food, comfort classics like meatloaf and a traditional turkey dinner complete with stuffing, gravy and mashed potatoes. The décor similarly conjures up feelings of Thanksgiving dinners past; the furniture has a worn-in, farmhouse feel to it and the wooden cabinets are filled with cutesy curios that wouldn't be out of place in your grandmother's house. The outdoor sidewalk seating area is even surrounded by a white picket fence. Breakfast and brunch are big here, meaning that if you come on a weekend morning you might have to wait awhile for a seat. What's the attraction? That would be dishes like the strawberry-topped waffles made with almond butter, eggs with biscuits and sausage gravy, and the omelette with Vermont cheddar cheese and sliced apple.
