Golden Spoon is probably the ultimate frozen yogurt chain, and it’s all Orange County, baby. Since its founding in 1982, Golden Spoon has survived something like 26 separate frozen-yogurt crazes, including the most recent Pinkberry-Red Mango wars. All the spaces are almost the same, which is what happens to chains once they get bigger than five locations, and all of the locations sever the same hundred or so flavors. And so, while its yogurt might be the blandest of all the chains, its cult is the strongest. Mention "Yogurtland" to any of the card-carrying 'Spooners (yes, they'll be carrying frequent-customer cards) spilling out of any of the Rancho Santa Margarita-based chain's mini-mall locations, and you'll be greeted with shoulders colder than a brain freeze. It’s a good spot if you want to get your frozen yogurt fast, cheap, and packed with more goodies than the average Halloween kid’s pillow case after 10 walks around the block.
