One of the San Francisco's longest running disco revival parties, Go Bang! has become something of a local institution. Playing a sound that once filled this city's discotheques, the party provides a vital link to a bygone era. For this month's edition, the event is back with an evening that includes no less than three guest DJs. First up is Shawn Ryan, a Philadelphia DJ who rips and writes for the tasteful Dollar Bin Jams blog. Next up is Tres Johnson, a onetime local who now runs lowercasesounds, an Omaha-based net radio station turned deep house label. Rounding out the roster is Haceteria's DJ SMAC, who will be celebrating his birthday the night of the party. Expect to experience disco the way it used to be, albeit with a polysexual crowd, tighter mixing, and records that include not only local favorites but also Chi-town and NYC club classics. Head over to Go Bang!'s Soundcloud page for a partial selection of live mixes recorded at the party.
