Abuzz with playful conversation and flickering laughter, Georgie’s Alibi is the lighthearted hub of gay life in Wilton Manors. The spacious bar is a red-lighted lounge during its long and generous happy hour. When the light melts away, the music swells and ballad-bellowing divas flood the television-covered walls in a torrent of danceable beats.

Drag shows are a dime a dozen in much of gay-friendly South Florida. Drag shows in which the performers also serve you dinner, however, are the sort of thing you don't expect to see this side of Lucky Cheng's in Manhattan -- that is, unless you've been to Lip Service at Georgie's Alibi. Judge for yourself. In all of Broward County it's the 1. most popular gay bar 2. it is considered the "heart" of Wilton Manors 3. sell's more liquor than any other bar, maybe even more than all the others combined 4. won the award coming up with the best hamburger combination recipe and 5 has more gay bar specials and special events than any other bar. There are more reasons yet too, but those five end up with me having to give it five stars even though I'm not particularly fond of the place.
