Description

This liquored-up vegetarian den is where you would have eaten if you grew up a little punk-rock, obsessed with Atari, and determined not to kill critters for sustenance. Its stark brick walls and industrial patina are emblematic of much of the surrounding hood, but GLC stands by its morals, as well as its image. The vegetarian and vegan fare is as robust and healthy as the beer selection is thorough. There are free video games, a jukebox that doesn't know anything but 11, and Field Roast rather than flame-broiled. And everything tastes delicious. Located behind Stellar Pizza off Airport Way, GLC is easy to miss-as is the service, best described as "charmingly distracted." But you didn't come to be pampered. You came to eat a $10 Darth Reuben with Emmenthaler swiss cheese on marble rye and play Space Invaders until your eyes cross.
