If I could give this place zero stars, I would. My daughter and I were visiting from Dallas and our gracious hosts took us to Funplex for the evening. Had it not been for the wonderful company that my hosts are, the evening would have been a complete bust.

My first problem began at the shoe counter. First of all, I've never heard of a place that requires you to leave one of your shoes behind the counter with them, but ok, whatever. My daughter went to the shoe counter and told them what size shoe she wore. When she tried it on, it was too tight, so she asked for the next size up. That size wound up being too big, so she asked for the half-size in between. When she came back to our lane, she told me that the shoes were too tight because they had given her the smaller size again, instead of the half-size. She was terrified to go back to the shoe counter based on how they had previously treated her. I went up there with her and told them she had asked for the half-size, but was given the smaller size. The attendant gave us a dirty look, then searched for her 1 shoe she had to leave with them. We told him it was a high-top black Converse, and he pulled out a wedge sandal and asked if that was it. Once he found it, he pulled the correct size bowling shoe and tossed it on the counter towards her. He was equally rude when giving me my bowling shoes.

Now that we had our shoes, we could begin bowling and turn the bad beginning into a night of fun.....wrong!! The first person in our group took his turn only to have the ball get stuck. So we pushed the "service" button and waited. After a few minutes, we pushed the "service" button again and waited. After yet a few more minutes, one of the kids went to get help. They were treated with the same rudeness that they had been treated with during the shoe fiasco. We decided it was time to send the man in our group to handle the situation. While we waited for him to get our issue resolved, a mother and her 3 year old sat down at the lane next to us. She was on her cell phone, ignoring her child who was picking up every ball in the carousel and rolling them down the lane as quickly as he could pick them up.

We finally found someone to fix our lane and now it was my daughter's turn to bowl; however, the child next to us had tossed her ball down the lane and it had not come back yet. I politely said, "Excuse me ma'am" but was met with the same negligence she showed her child. I tried again, "Excuse me ma'am, that's my daughter's ball that he just rolled down the lane." She gave me a dirty look and said, "It'll come back around!" Except, the 3 year old didn't quite have the strength to get it all the way down the lane, so it just sat there. Rather than deal with the woman again, my daughter went and found another ball....only to have that one get stuck and spin at the end of the lane just like the first turn. (Meanwhile the neglected 3 year old continued to roll balls down the lane. When his mother, who was still on her phone, attempted to smack his hand, the kid took off running in front of our lane, then through our seating area.)

We asked to be moved because the lane was acting up. The response we received from the staff was, "If it keeps acting up, we'll move you". We insisted that twice was enough, especially since we had to wait 20 minutes to get assistance.

We were moved two lanes over and everything was going smoothly....for a while. Then before we could finish our game, a message on our screen popped up saying, "Thank you for bowling" and our game was over. When we inquired about it, we were told that since we had changed lanes, our time was up and we would have to pay again to finish our game. At this point, we had had enough. We turned in our bowling shoes, only to have our single shoe tossed at us. I asked the shoe attendant what his name was. He smiled (as if I were going to ask for his phone number as well) and said, "Tony. Why?" I replied, "So when I write my review on how saying how rude you were, I can mention you by name."

We proceeded to the door, glad to put the experience behind us, only to be stopped by the rent-a-cop. He told me, in terrible English, mind you, that I could not take my Styrofoam cup of ice tea out with me. I explained that I had purchased the ice tea from the snack bar. He still insisted that I could not leave with it. I told him, "I paid a total of $4.00 for this tea. I'm taking it with me!"

I've had my fair share of bad experiences; however, this is by far, the WORST. We will NOT be going back.
