Tucked away in the courtyard of Fountain Court, behind Apollo's Lounge on Seventh Street, Fuego Bistro is one of the best-hidden spots in central Phoenix. It's tiny, too (there are only seven tables inside and a handful out on the patio) so it helps to call ahead. Though some of the entrees are more "bistro" than fuego, the menu's mostly Latin-inspired. Try the pernil asado (melt-in-your-mouth, slow-roasted pork) or PatrĂ³n-braised blackened prawns, and wash it all down with some homemade sangria.
Every week, there's a cornucopia of Phoenix food news, features, and reviews to report here at Chow Bella. If you're like most people, you probably just don't have the time to get to all of it. It's k... More »

Everyone needs his or her daily dose of fruit, and if that fruit just happens to be liquor-soaked, who are we to complain? Fuego Bistro understands this frame of mind and serves up bold, red sangria spiked with all sorts of fruit. It is full-bodied, lightly sweetened, and strong enough that you'll be more than happy with just a glass. We recommend you swing by for happy hour for a real deal, because the only thing better than discounted appetizers like empanadas, street tacos, and chiles... More »
The perfect mojito is light and refreshing, with a sweet overtone that masks the kick of the rum. That's why we love the Prickly Pear version at Fuego Bistro, in central Phoenix. The flavor is subtler than the mojito's standard lemony notes, and tastes a little like watermelon without the sickening sweetness that comes with most fruity drinks. Mojito purists might argue that the lack of mint and citrus disqualifies this one, but we say get with the times! Any place that carries 61 rums and... More »
Who wouldn't like to be in the know about a charming hideaway for a great meal? Fuego Bistro is just the kind of spot that'll make you seem so savvy to your friends -- but first, you have to find it. We're not saying it's far away or anything. It's actually quite centrally located, just a little bit south of Bethany Home and a smidgen east of Seventh Street. However, you won't stumble on this place with any amount of driving. Trust us. It's actually tucked into the small courtyard at... More »

Do the math. That's over 700 possible combinations, and Fuego's mixologists know how to make 'em all.
