This edition of Free First Saturday will be taking a page from the Walker's ongoing exhibition highlighting the work of Cindy Sherman. Here, kids and teens will be invited to examine a world of alter egos, alternative personas, and random characters. Sherman is known for self-portrait photography using props, makeup, wigs, and poses to completely transform herself. The resulting images can be hilarious, intriguing, harrowing, or just plain bizarre. Folks who visit the Cargill Lounge will be able to explore this process a bit with portrait photographer Sam Hoolihan, as participants will create and embody a character using costumes, accessories, and a little bit of acting. Pictures will then be screened on a large wall in the museum during the event, and they will also be shared on the Walker's Flikr account. (We're talking about kids under 12 here, so this should be a pretty adorable project.) Other activities include an interactive workshop with the Children's Theatre Company, a dance party, and drawing and games with artist Ilene Krug Mojsilov.
