Description

This River Oaks restaurant seems to have always been one surf and turf place or another, but it's the incarnation as Frank's Chop House that suits it best. Inside, it's country club-chic mixed with steakhouse accents like a big mahogany bar and elevated booths that provide a good view into the open kitchen. Chicken-fried steaks are Frank's strong suit, served with a peppery cream gravy and a crispy crust. Equally good, however, are standouts like a Gulf shrimp BLT with plenty of avocado and bacon and a steak salad served on grilled lettuce.
