Foothills Art Center typically presents group shows, but last summer the entire place -- even the Carol and Don Dickinson Sculpture Garden -- was given over to a fabulous solo that delved into the abstract and conceptual sculptures and installations of the legendary Charles Parson. Colorado artists began embracing abstraction in the 1930s, and by the late '40s and early '50s, it had become a full-blown regional movement. Unfortunately, much of the work has been mostly forgotten.
