A couple decades into its Noe Valley run, Firefly continues to thrive, offering an ever-changing Ameircan and California menu and a quirky welcome. It's the kind of restaurant where two-thirds of the tables can tell you the month when that new waiter started, and the other third have been meaning to come back for dinner ever since a that great meal they ate here seven years ago. Chef-owner Brad Levy has a wide-ranging palate, and incorporates kasha and coconut rice and nori into his dishes without ever giving the impression that he's cooking willy-nilly. There's a prix-fixe menu on Sundays through Thursdays, and on Tuesdays, the locals know to come in for fried-chicken night.
