Description

If you feel right at home at this Wedgwood pub, no wonder: It's a converted house covered with wood thatch, with worn wood tables giving it that olde-towne atmosphere and Deadheads setting its low-key tone. Order a turkey and cranberry chutney sandwich, the Firehouse #40 nachos, or the popular hand-tossed pizza, which takes forever to arrive but is worth the wait. Several nights per week, you will find live music (usually of the folk and/or bluegrass variety) on Mondays, a damn fine open mic night, and always a myriad microbrews, a nice mid-brow selection of wines, and a quaint outdoor seating area.

"Seattle nice" isn't really nice, it's polite--which is a lot different than nice. To wit, how many bar patios can be found in the city with adjoining picnic tables that force imbibing strangers to actually interact with one another One, by our count--and it can be found in sleepy Wedgwood, across from the neighborhood fire station. While The Fiddler's Inn has changed management a time or two over the years, it's still the bar where Grateful Dead bootlegs are likeliest to be playing when y... More »

This is where you wan to go if you like to relax in an informal setting and drink good beer at a reasonable price. The outside garden seating is a great place to spend some time. The Fiddler's Inn reminds me of the kind of bars that I used to hang out in when I traveled a lot for snowboarding. I also love the food here. They have great pizzas, artichoke dip, and nachos.
