Located mere blocks from Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, the Feeding Tree offers generous portions of authentic Caribbean food on the cheap. The Feeding Tree's menu features bone-in curried goat, jerk chicken, and a handful of Jamaican patties, but offers a variety of West Indian cuisine: whole fish, jerk shrimp, rotis, and stewed meats which range from beef and chicken to oxtail, cowfoot, and tripe. Homemade juices and fresh ginger beer balance the spiced cuisine, and codfish breakfasts are served in the mornings. The homey, hole-in-the-wall atmosphere contrasts with the more corporate eateries around the ballpark. While the Feeding Tree is popular on game days, it gets busiest during the weekday lunch rush. Most lunch specials are under 6 dollars, and often there is a steady steam of take-out customers until mid-afternoon. --Alex Spoto
