Billing itself as athe last great hamburger stand,a the L.A. chain Fatburger offers 1/3-pound burgers that are big, lushly topped, and a zillion times better than McDonaldas. Shakes made from real ice cream, and much thicker than the New York prototype, are worth a trip in themselves, as are the crisp onion rings, flinging a concentrated sweetness. But skip the lackluster fries.
