The common Dallas thin patty has no home here. Fat Daddy's serves up them up big and juicy at half a pound with seasoned steak fries and drinks in a checkered paper-lined basket. The hand-formed burgers and the varied toppings and condiments bar are only part of the allure of this family-friendly Casa Linda restaurant. Order the one-pound Fat Daddy special and get two free beers. You could get a soda or a shake (vanilla, chocolate or strawberry), but that will cost you. The beer is free and has been since 2002 when Fat Daddy's first opened. The menu also offers fish tacos, chicken tenders, salads and other "healthier" alternatives for those customers unable to put a hefty piece of meat between a substantial bun.
Have eaten at this restaraunt since it opened, close to 13 years. Tried repeatedly in the last few years to hope that it would improve. It hasn't! Have two friends who refuse to join me to eat at this restaraunt.
1)uncleanliness- previously dirty bathrooms, unclean silverware and flies.
(today sticky floors, 2 dirty booths and 1 booth with duct tape)
2)food value- portions have gotten so small, a full plate quesadilla is now half size for example (with a bunch of chips to compensate)
3)food quality- quesadillas are greasy enough that I lay them on a paper towel to soak oil. Today my burger was dry, unappetizing. I didn't complain but the previous dinner I had there my stomach was upset daily for almost a week! Horrible, it started just a few hours after the meal.s
4)customer service- long ago they had a great owner/manager who was always there and concerned about quality. He interacted with customers and made sure food service was great.Original employees worked there for almost 5 to 6 years. Great cooks! All gone, turnover is continuous.
Ive seen unhappy customers yelling at staff because of poor food/service
I should have stopped eating here years ago when it started to get bad, but anyhow... now I will not waste any more money at this restaraunt.
This Casa Linda joint has a loyal following. On Thursday nights you'll catch the biker crowd; they park their Harleys in the lot and catch up on gossip. They come for Fat Daddy's burgers, giant hand-formed beef patties with a bun that's not too thick and not too thin, accompanied by seasoned steak fries and a generous condiment bar for $5.99. The big surprise: Order the burger at Fat Daddy's, and you get two free beers. Seems the owner decided he'd come out ahead by giving beer away rather... More »
It's not hard to get good cheeseburgers or cheddar fries around here (Snuffer's is terrific on both of those fronts, but they employ a service system that tends to screw up your order and try your patience). Still, Fat Daddy's has about the best combination. Their half-pound cheeseburgers are as good as they come (they also have a full 1-pound burger for the especially hungry), and the cheese fries are loaded with artery-clogging cheddar. Plus, when you walk in, the staff screams, "Welcome... More »
