A pool-hall/jazz-club hybrid is a rare and incongruous thing: While the swinging drummer and bandaged-finger bassist are unfailingly precise, the same can't be said for some of the patrons swarming around the pool and ping-pong tables. But that's what makes the combination such an unexpected blast: There's no expectation that you be as graceful as the musicians here, which makes Fat Cat extra inviting. On Fridays, a $3 cover gets you in the door, and from there you can play pool, ping-pong, shuffleboard, foosball, or, yes, Scrabble and chess. With 28 tables, two Ping-Pong tables, air hockey, pinball, and 17 different brands of beer, it's not too difficult to... More »
great jazz bar and games too wow very cool
this place is so fun for birthdays!
This place was awesome for my friends 19th birthday party. We were all able to get in and have a great time playing pool and listening to some good up-tempo jazz from a group of guys that looked about our age. If you don't think you'd fit in with a bunch of college kids, this place isn't for you.
