Description

Famous for his storied casual restaurant House of Nanking, Peter Fang opened Fang to express his modern, bold take on southeastern Chinese cuisine in a fine dining setting. The steamed pork dumplings with black bean-ginger sauce, fried whole rock cod, and pork tenderloin with cucumber spears are good options, along with any of the soups, including a pleasantly vinegary hot and sour with tofu. While Fang and his daughter are engaged, helpful hosts, dinner service can be ponderous. Still, the drinks are worth lingering over, especially the Nam espresso shaker, a martini glass full of rum, condensed milk, espresso, and chile dust.
