Description

"Chef's home cooking" isn't quite a cuisine category, but it should be. Eva specializes in the kind of food that a really good chef might make at home. Rabbit appears pretty regularly, as do seasonal salads that come to the table like little baroque sculptures. The restaurant's two dining areas support this idea by offering living room vs. family room seating-one room with white tablecloths and candlelight, the other with big wooden tables and a bar. If there's a custard on hand (blue-cheese flan, chorizo bread pudding), go for it. Complementing the food is James Hondros' eclectic wine list, chosen for the wines' food-friendliness.

If you ever find yourself in the Greenlake area and looking for a great place to eat, make a point to stop in to Eva Restaurant and try their Washington Beef Hanger Steak: amazing!!! Everything on their menu, bar included, is wonderful; their wine list is incredible and the ambiance is unreal. They seem to strive to use local, fresh ingredients, which really shows in their dishes. The staff is also very friendly and helpful, which can be rare to find at times in downtown Seattle restaurants :)
