This authentic eatery offers a lot more than pastry and conversation in Polish. As the name suggests, the place is a bakery that produces everything from fresh breads to light-as-air desserts like the “angel wings” pastry and blueberry jagody (donut). However, you can also grab a decent plate of lunch at Europa Pastry Café. The small plate includes 4 pierogi and 1 stuffed cabbage, and the large plate – potentially enough food to split between two people – includes two cabbages. For something even simpler, there’s a selection of hot or cold European sandwiches, which are made on rye bread, rolls, or bagels. The restaurant also has frozen pierogi available to take home, and there’s a small selection of dry goods, packaged sweets, and Polish items including newspapers and magazines. There’s only one place like this in the Valley, and you can find it in North Phoenix near the 51 and Glendale Ave.
