This two-story Lower East Side restaurant has the feel of a gigantic artist's loft, with the hip staff and clientele to match. It's absolutely mobbed on weekend mornings when the brunch crowd comes in hungry for egg dishes and potato pancakes. The dinner menu is contemporary American with international influences: wasabi-encrusted salmon and spicy chipotle pork loin share space with more casual fare like a half-pound Angus burger and a Cuban sandwich. Seats upstairs, illuminated by a large skylight, provide a nice view of the rest of the restaurant. Thirsty? Grab a pitcher of mojitos or Sauza margaritas and start the night out right (the restaurant also has an extensive, moderately priced international wine list and craft beers from all over the country). Dollar oysters and a Tuesday all-you-can-eat deal on mussels and fries make it clear that, despite the sleek décor, this restaurant isn¹t just for those with deep pockets. —Keith Wagstaff

Fantastic weekend brunches!
So, a $16 brunch with three boozy drinks can be hard to beat. Add to that fluffy buttermilk biscuits on a menu that MUST have something for everything, and you have a great way to chow down for brunch. But there are lines and butts will brush your head while you eat. You'll be willing to deal once you've got a mimosa and a biscuit in your hands.
