Don't let the painfully Technicolor cakes in the window dissuade you from entering what looks like a normal Sunset Park Mexican bakery. Inside are featured plenty of great cheap meals, including homemade tamales; pressed torta sandwiches made with cecina (dried beef), milanesa (breaded chicken cutlet), or plain American ham and cheese; and cemitas-Pueblan sandwiches on round seeded rolls with a similar roster of fillings. But best of all are the Salvadoran selections, including hand-patted pupusas made to order (a real rarity!) with a filling of either cheese or a wonderfully gnarly pork-and-bean puree. Open 24 hours.
