The first restaurant by owner Joe Groves brings affordable scratch cooking with a Southern flare to a landscape that is desperate for some innovation.
Take a seat in the darkly colored dining room and order a chicken-fried steak. Hand-battered and cooked to order, the addictive crispy steak is a fine rendition of the classic. The meatloaf is likely better than your mother's and the pork chop beats that of the average diner hands-down. Considering the menu pricing, eating like this feels like a steal. Breakfast, served all day, offers great options too, especially if you're late to rise on the weekends.
