Description

Twin maps of Guatemala and El Salvador adorn the wall of this humble lunch counter a few steps south of the Queens frontier in Bushwick. The tasty carne guisado (beef stew) is almost overshadowed by the moist, chile-flecked rice that comes alongside. Among the hand-patted pupusas, the cheese-and-beans combo won us over immediately.
