Description
Located in a nondescript strip mall in La Habra, El Portillo is a beer bar serving a largely Spanish-speaking clientele. This little spot is as minimalist as it gets: Spartan concrete floors, one row of bar stools, plain white walls, one functioning pool table and no taps. Gabachos may feel intimidated at first blush by the banda music bumping from the speakers, but not to worry, the bar does serve shots of tequila in addition to its bottled beer selection, so buy everybody a shot and start breaking down some barriers.
