Description

Like other venues in town, the club underneath the highway in the Eastlake neighborhood has gone through its fair of identity shifts. Probably most famous as the Off Ramp, the space was last taken over by Infinite Productions and named El Corazón. Booking definitely leans toward "rawk" and metal bands, and a good portion of shows are scheduled for all-ages crowds, so what you usually end up encountering at El Corazón is a sweaty throng of headbangers who are there for the show, not for socializing. Burly tough guys make security tight, the short stage makes the sound immediate, and the whiskey (for those over 21) makes the night fly.

  • 2008 | Best Underage Music Venue for Those With Overage Friends

The ability to see exquisite live music should not be hindered by age. Fortunately for us, El Corazon provides an excellent venue for the under-21 set, bringing out a rockin' combination of both local and touring acts. It still mostly caters to an all-ages crowd despite the fact that it has a bar--perfect for those on the cusp of reaching drinking age who have older friends who want to kick back a few while they watch the show. By providing stage space for all kinds of music from the... More »

although the el corazon (formerly graceland) is a runs on the small/tight side, there's always something comforting about it, i've heard and will agree with many people that it "feels like home."You get a great intimate close up with the stage.
