Description

The tiny purple room adjacent to the venerable El Chavo restaurant offers drink and appetizer specials (cheap tacos til midnight!) and an alternative to the sit-down food frenzy next door. DJs spin here on a regular basis (Han Cholo -of the rockin' jewelry line- is a fave "Jueves" and Senor Amor spices up Sundays). You'll see a notable influx when movies get out at the Vista up the street (listen for hammered "reviews") and when La Luz de Jesus Gallery a few blocks away has exhibit openings. For the most part, Chavito is part of the barhopper crawl along Sunset Blvd. that includes Tiki Ti and Good Luck Bar, but thanks to its bar ties (one of the owners of The Short Stop and Footsies has a stake in it) and newness, it's currently numero uno with local trendsters.

Love dis joint. Food yum, drinks delish, and these two essentials aside let's now focus on the ambiance: velvet, day-glo sombreros on the Dolly side are a feast for the eyes; Lila Downs, Julieta Venegas and more Spanish language artists that we love and can't hear anywhere else are a treat for the ol' earballs on the BAR bar side. And now we have legendary DJ Senor Amor bringing us a vast array of musica maravillosa on the patio during the summer Sunday afternoons. ¡Te adoramos, El Chavo !

I just started going to this new place and WOW, amazing!!! From the moment you arrive there to the moment you leave, I was treated like royalty. Got to say the staff there takes care of there guest. I also heared that Dolly visits the place. I am very impress the drinks were great and so was the food. I definetly recommend this place to everyone.. There's also happy hour on the Chavito side from 7-9pm $3 Margaritas
