Today, it's home to the American Cinematheque, a nonprofit that's been operating the Egyptian... More »

hands down the best place in LA. especially if you're a girl! always an overwhelmingly uneven ratio of males to females... ie: no line to the ladies room after a movie. plus they always have incredible guest speakers, comfortable seats, and great great movies. i adore this place.

Gorgeous fake Egyptian motif, comfortable seats, great movies and star sightings. When you're seated in the theater, look up to see the coolest scarab beetle on the ceiling. The Egyptian is the sister theater to Grauman's Chinese Theatre.
