A clear labor of love for its owners, Egan's plays host to many of the Northwest's best jazz, folk, and roots musicians-in a space where it's hard to get more than ten feet away from the band. But this ain't Jazz Alley. You know why? The food's a helluva a lot better. Warm up with a bowl of gumbo or the red beans and rice made from recipes created by New Orlean's biggest dawg, Paul Prudhomme. Other entrees are straightforward preparations of chicken, beef, lamb chops, but done well in Egan's teeny kitchen. It's essential to make reservations if there's somebody you really want to hear play in this teeny venue's eclectic lineup. If you just want to come for a bite and the weather's fine, there are sidewalk tables.
Drag chanteuse Arnaldo and Seattle Opera tenor Karl Marx Reyes combine their musical loves in a benefit for Pride ASIA.
