Sasha Petraske, the mastermind mixologist behind Milk & Honey (famous for its fantastic cocktails and elitist, unlisted number), tried to stir up some similar buzz with this more recent additionaby never announcing an exact opening date. (Or maybe it was just a big fuck you to annoying press reporters like us, forced to wander by the venue every week till it finally looked open.) But once it did, Petraske didn't disappoint: East Side Company is his more egalitarian paean to the classic-cocktail age, with a brief but choice menu of proper mint juleps and old-fashioneds. Pressed-tin ceilings, upholstered leather booths, and the staff waitressing by candlelight add to the old-time feel.
