East meets west at this authentically nondescript New York-style deli, where the usual suspects -- chopped liver, smoked herring, and pastrami -- are accented with light and lovely California touches. The sandwiches are as enormous as their eastern counterparts; the stuffed cabbage is sweet, spicy, and wonderful; the potato pancakes are crisp and deliciously greasy; and the blintzes are feathery and incomparable. Get the cranberry-studded kugel for dessert.
