For those of you who look back fondly on the glory days of 1923, Dutch Kills Bar will help cure your nostalgic ache and your sobriety at the same time. A fleet of classic cocktails, such as a whiskey, rum, or vodka fix (all made with hand-cut ice) make it easy to relive the speakeasy days of yesteryear. Located in Long Island City, Dutch Kills is the cheapest option out of owner Sasha Petraske's several cocktail bars, with libations running $11 on average. The quality remains excellent, however, both in terms of drinks and ambiance. Booths with individual curtains line one side of the bar, and rich wood paneling is everywhere. Live piano is not uncommon. Friendly service dressed to match the period make Dutch Kills Bar a gem in Queens. --Gabriel Herrera
