High ceilings and exposed brick are the setting for this boho hangout. Though many dishes shine, get the inside scoop from your deft and diplomatic server when ordering. Sunday brunch is worth the wait (especially with mimosa in hand). Sidewalk seating provides primo people-watching at Euclid and McPherson, ever the hub of CWE society.

Duff's will always Bringback memories.. and you can bringback anybody and they will love it!
Since 1975 poetry has had a home in St. Louis. The gorgeous magazine River Styx comes out three times a year, stuffed with art, poetry, essays and fiction. Truly a big deal in the poetry world, it's featured Nobel and Pulitzer Prize winners and earned a great reputation all over the country. And it's at Duff's, the cozy brick-walled restaurant/bar in the Central West End, that the River Styx reading series takes place. At 7:30 p.m. on the third Monday of every month, national heavy hitters... More »
Poetry might call to mind genteel sips of wine, but appetites at the Hungry Young Poets summer reading series are fed by topped-off pint glasses and after-party shots. All cozied up at Duff's in the Central West End, you'll find music and laughter -- among other things you may not have envisioned taking place at a poetry reading. Locally based lit journal River Styx inaugurated the Hungry Young Poets series 13 years ago, aiming to spotlight rising stars under 33 years old and hailing... More »
"Value" isn't the same as cheap. It's about getting quality at a fair price. Duff's offers great value that unjustifiably flies under many people's radar. The food is tasty, well prepared and reasonably priced, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the wine list is a treasure. At any given time, Duff's offers about 30 reds, 30 whites and a smattering of dessert, sparkling, half-bottle and rosé selections. This is a wine drinker's list, as opposed to one for people looking to boost their ego... More »
Thinking back over the past year made us realize how blessed St. Louis is with literary endeavors. The St. Louis County Library has the Buzz Westfall series; the St. Louis Public Library brings in a host of authors; Left Bank Books has an admirably author-packed schedule that even spills over into other venues; universities and various other bookstores play host to authors throughout the year. In a very crowded field, the tip of our cap goes to River Styx magazine's reading series. Thirty... More »
