DJ Sep Ghadishah has put on the Sunday night Dub Mission party at the Elbo Room for more than 15 years. As local club nights go, that's kind of insane; most survive for only a fraction of that time. But through consistent bookings, DJ Sep has managed not only to keep Dub Mission alive, but to keep it popular, as a visit any Sunday night will demonstrate. She hasn't done it alone: A roster of regular DJs that includes the esteemed J-Boogie, Vinnie Esparza, and Maneesh the Twister has helped keep Dub Mission popular, and the guests include some of the most fabled selectahs in Jamaican rhythm: Legendary producer Adrian Sherwood performed at last year's 15th anniversary party, and Zion Train, Twilight Circus, and Sunshine Jones were all recent headliners. Dub Mission describes its specialty as "dub, dubstep, roots, and dancehall," but what it's really become is an S.F. institution.
