What used to be an old Thai restaurant is now serving upscale seafood dishes. An aggressive remodel transformed the space, now tricked out in dreamy ocean blues with sculptures of driftwood and sand dollars and starfish strewn about. The fish is wicked fresh and specials showcase odd sea creatures of all sorts. Grilled shrimp, golden trout and seared salmon may all sound like plates you’ve had before, but Driftwood’s kitchen turns out some interesting takes. Vibrant sauces and condiments decorate what can at times be noisy plates.
Not ever going back. One of the worst dining experiences ever in Dallas. Service started out okay when our party first arrived...maybe after one hour, 3 appetizers, and 3 bottles of wine we anticipated our entrees to come out, but never arrived to our table. Tables that were seated after us were already getting their entrees...even dessert! Our meals came out slowly and it was lukewarm. By the time they finished setting all our entrees to our table, everyone's food was cold. We reported it to the waitstaff, the manager and also the owner who were less than benign and seem to care less about our awful experience. We were there to spend $$$ and they didn't accommodate us.
