Drexel Irish Pub is more cramped than the inside of a barrel of Guinness and just as dark. Despite being right off Española Way and near a slew of tapas joints, it gets the pub look right: dark-wood-paneled walls, a copper ceiling, and reasonably priced drinks. Domestics start at $5 and cocktails at $10. Try the wacky mixed drinks and shots, such as the "surfer on acid," a scrum of Jägermeister, coconut rum, and pineapple juice. The pub also has a snacks menu. Except for fish 'n' chips ($6.99) and shepherd's pie ($14.99), the menu is about as authentically Irish as Bashar al-Assad. On the other hand, if you're in the mood for bar food, you're in luck. There are mozzarella sticks ($6.99), Buffalo-style chicken chunks (10 for $7.99), baby-back ribs (half-rack for $13.99), fried fish sandwiches (under $11), and cheeseburgers (under $10). Plus there's plenty of flat-screen TV sets so you'll never miss a moment of the Marlins' bullpen blowing another save. Neighborhood feel aside, the pub caters to a younger crowd, and local band Bloc Party might just be playing at midnight on any given Saturday.
