Drais, the super-swank dance palace atop the W Hotel Hollywood is an unmatched extrasensory experience ($15 million worth). Vegas impresario Victor Drai (and partners Cy & Jesse Waits) have created a stunner of a club: go-go gals writh on gilded stripper-pole lamps, plush and roomy booths abound, opulent textures, mirrors and lighting gleam everywhere, and there's an outdoor pool area with cabana furniture to rival any ritzy living room. The kicker is the view, which - if you peek between the curtains that surround the place or go out on the main balcony - is incredible and almost vertigo-inducing (at least after a $15 cocktail). It may have one of the toughest doors in town, but that doesn't mean there's a lack of douchey dudes and lycra-wrapped ladies here like everywhere else. Luckily, the Metro station is right next to the entrance.
Oh Drai's what happened to you? My friends and I have been going to Drai's for the past 2 years we always rent a cabana usually twice in one day so we can enjoy the pool and have lunch during the day and party at night. We also get a suite at the W hotel :) which we love they are so accommodating and I can bring my dog ;)
Drai's has really gone down hill and it is extremely sad since it is a great location. The issue is their security they do not know their place they are overly aggressive to the point of assault, condescending and Barbaric.
I am not saying the following to brag, we have spent thousands of dollars at this establishment literally... During the summer $5000-6000 on cabanas on the weekends. Of course this does not give you a license to do what you will but a little respect and appreciation would be expected and desired. Security assaulted one of my friends who verbally told them not to touch him while he had his hands up they proceeded to hold him by the face and throat and slam him up against the wall? Really? He is 5'5 I saw what was happening and went over telling security to stop it and they slammed my friend into me so I ended up hitting the wall about 4 times. First off I am a woman and I'm close to 5'1 feet tall.
In my life I have never seen this sort of behavior. I proceeded to call 911 I didn't know what else to do.
I am sickened that a so called "upscale" venue would hire people who clearly should be incarcerated. The level of professionalism is nil and void.
What used to be a great spot has turned into a low rent dangerous venue. Sad but true. All this because we requested that the people next to us be moved or if they could find us another spot. We had this request since the people next to us were poking fun at one of our guests who is special needs.
Shame on you Drai's for your lack of common sense and your brute force.
