The store might be closed, but the market is not. Every Saturday starting at 8am until 11am there is a great climate of local sourced foods. A great combination of local artisans, bakers, and farmers. And don't forget the vegan and gluten free tamales. A great place to bring your children and educate them about the benefits of locally sourced, sustainable, organic ingredients. Plus the people are awesome and friendly.

Event Review: Downtown Phoenix Public Market
As someone who lives downtown, I LOVE the public market for the simple fact that I can walk over there for almost anything I need in a quick grocery trip. Fresh out of bread? Walk to the Public Market. Need produce to go with a recipe? (Because let's face it - fresh produce is the first thing we all run out of, right?) Public Market has me covered. My only complaint USED to be their limited hours (I'm not good at planning ahead), but now those have changed - the indoor Urban Grocery & Wine Bar is now open Monday-Saturday from 10 to 7 (Wednesdays til 8), along with the open-air market every Wednesday and Saturday!
And of course, I like to swing by on days when I don't feel like cooking, like a snack on Food Truck Friday or a sandwich from the cafe inside. The veggie is a delicious vegan-friendly option, and good for non-vegans like myself too!
Venture outside while the sun is still out during our summer months? Oh, hell, no. Thankfully, one of Phoenix's biggest and best year-round farmers markets takes place every Wednesday during the slightly cooler and shadier evening hours. Every week for the past seven years, produce vendors, bakers, cupcake makers, jam peddlers, jewelry creators, and more come out to sell their goods from 4 to 6 p.m. And don't worry about dinner -- food trucks like Hey Joe! and Torched Goodness park... We were thrilled when this outdoor public market opened last year at the intersection of Central Avenue and McKinley Street. We're even happier that the market is still going strong and the number of vendors has doubled. Among our favorite new booths are Dave The Egg Man's assorted selection of chicken, goose, and duck eggs; Bread Basket Bakery's natural bread, pudding, muffins, and granola; and the best sarsaparilla in the Old West from Sonoran Brewing Company. You can still enjoy... More »
This new public market offers an eclectic and always-changing range of Arizona-grown products. Choose from foods such as organic fruits and veggies from Queen Creek's One Windmill Farms, cactus jellies over at Cotton Country Jams, and diabetic-friendly sweets from TJ's Good Cookie -- and that's just a start. Navigate around dog owners and mothers pushing strollers to the beat of a rotating cast of musicians and check out a number of booths offering handcrafted jewelry, photographs and... More »
