If the Dovre Club is still bitter about being given the boot from its original home - and a sign protesting that mid-'90s eviction still hangs here in its new location - this Mission District den does a good job hiding it otherwise. Dovre v2.0 may not be quite as divey as it once was, of course, but it's a relaxed and unfrumpy hangout nonetheless, with puffy couches, a pool table, and Irish beer memorabilia sharing space under the acoustic tile ceiling. The twentysomethings who order low-cost shots and microbrews today weren't legally allowed to drink in the old Dovre anyway - so the only nostalgia you'll experience in this comfy corner joint is the sound of the Pixies and other college-rock classics on the jukebox.
