Description

Be lulled into a happy mood by the serenading ukulele player and the refreshing, faintly apple-cinnamony mai tais, just like everyone else in the place. If you're looking for the term to classify your fellow revelers-normal, everyday folks who dress up like tourists in their off-time and converge upon places like Don's for the pure escapism it brings-they're called tikiphiles, members of a not-so-hidden subculture who long to relive their tropical vacations past. As for the food, salads such as the Kona Chop are solid, as are appetizers such as the ahi poke tacos. The entrées can be hit-or-miss, but the Chilean sea bass is a good bet.

    I missed the grand opening, but finally made it here last Sunday. I HIGHLY recommend the Missionary's Downfall and the Ahi Poke tacos- ESPECIALLY DURING HAPPY HOUR when appetizers and cocktails in the bar are are 50% OFF ( which is 4-7 DAILY) BE PATIENT though, good mixology TAKES TIME and believe me- it's WORTH it! :)
