Description

This cryptic spot, which features a smiling Carl Redding of now-defunct Amy Ruth's in chef's whites on the signage above the door, is nevertheless helmed by someone named Walter Blackwell, Jr. Meanwhile, the place is so small, it can barely support the image it projects. We loved the rib sandwich-a Southern anomaly of juicy, sauce-soaked ribs planted on a demi-baguette, rather than two slices of white or whole wheat, as is traditional. Maybe that's where the chef comes in. Other estimable steam-table stuff includes chicken done a half-dozen different ways, fried fish of various sorts, and there's even a "Harlem Health" menu, featuring salads and steamed vegetables.
