Dive Bar's muffuletta--the quintessential hero of New Orleans--won Best of Show in these pages, beating out several other bars on the West Side. The round puffy roll is layered with diverse cold cuts and two types of cheese, but most important is the olive relish that the other places failed to provide: chunky, oily, acidic, relentlessly green. It lubricates and elevates. Other bar food options at this tumultuous place, which runs late into the evening, include a great vegetarian Reuben sandwich, sub-par chicken wings, and a range of perfectly good bar burgers with excellent fries. The list of scotches and tequilas verges on the amazing, and the wine list ain't bad, either.
