Description
This seafood shack with a memorable name and superficial theme (Ditch Plains is a top Montauk surfing spot) excels at lobster rolls, clams stuffed with chorizo, and pickled anchovy salad in an intense lemon dressing, while other things such as fried clam strips, clam chowder, and french fries are disappointing. But there are two more reasons to give Ditch Plains a try: The menu also includes breakfasts of eggs and grits, the latter served with all sorts of add-ins like chorizo and lobster; and it's open until 2 a.m. and serves a late night menu every night.
