The first Dinosaur Bar-B-Que was founded by a couple of bikers in Syracuse back in the 1980s. The restaurant made its way to Harlem in 2004 and has been mobbed ever since. The giant pit-smoked chicken wings, served with Maytag blue cheese dressing, are the most popular appetizer on the menu. The slow-cooked pork ribs, pulled pork and barbecue beef brisket, available by themselves or in various combo plates, draw in a boisterous crowd, often including students from nearby Columbia. The design scheme tries to recreate the roadhouse original. Wood beams cross the large space, which is littered with motorcycle-related curious, not to mention a painting depicting all of the animals you can eat at the restaurant playing poker with dinosaurs. Needless to say, the restaurant stresses fun; more than 20 beers are on tap, big tables encourage large groups and the volume is always high, even if there aren't any motorcycles roaring outside.—Keith Wagstaff
