Dimassi's Mediterranean Buffet

Mediterranean food isn't the first cuisine that comes to mind with the word "buffet." Some Dallas restaurants, though, have combined the two dining concepts. Chief among them is this location of a small chain, which has branches scattered around Dallas, Austin and Houston. Dimassi's focuses on Lebanese food, though the buffet does offer other regional favorites like pizza. The selection is extensive, ranging from pita and kebabs to salads, fruits and shredded lamb shank. Kabobs and fatoosh (diced onions, mint, tomatoes, lemon juice and olive oil with garlic and salt) are among the popular items. Naturally, there is hummus. The service is as simple; customers must seat themselves.
