This is one among a handful of Phoenix's legendary restaurants, nestled in the foothills of the northwest valley and serving gourmet dishes that draw crowds. Try the signature dish: Braised Duck Ravioli, with oven-roasted tomato sherry crème and shaved Umbria truffles. Also amazing is the Apple Marsala Roasted Pork Belly, served with sweet soft corn polenta, caramelized apples, and chanterelle mushrooms. The Pan Seared Diver Scallops deserve some kind of award, as does the impressive and exhaustive wine list and the tempting desserts, which change frequently. The view is spectacular, but you'll have a hard time tearing your eyes away from your plate, heaped with gourmet treasures.
Food festival season is in full swing in other parts of the country, but in the Valley of the Sun, it's already too hot to crowd around outside with a thousand other people to score a bite of meat gr... More »
Sunday is Mother's Day, and (especially if you don't do it throughout the year) you'd better find a way to honor the woman that gave you life. Brunch is the traditional meal of the holiday, and there... More »

Remember last year when you swore you'd make Valentine's Day plans way ahead of schedule so as not to repeat the twelve-hour scramble of years past? It might be too late to get a reservation at the t... More »
The gifts are purchased and wrapped, the tree is lit and decorated, and Christmas cards and packages are in the mail. But what about the holiday feast? If you still don't know what to eat for your cel... More »
You want a good view? Come to a Different Pointe of View. When you get there, just go straight... and go up! The restaurant and bar are located at the top of the mountain, but there are signs directing you there. Once you get there, you can either park yourself or valet, and walk up stairs to the bar and the restaurant on the top floor. I have been here several times, and have dined in the restaurant as the sun sets. You talk about romantic... man! And the bar, which is mostly outside, has a nice view and a fire pit. There are couches and comfy chairs for a nice night with a view.
The prices are a bit outrageous. But that is what you have to expect at a place like this with a view like this. They have a good beer list, and some unique cocktails. Oh, and a cigar menu! This is a great place to celebrate a special occasion.
Drive up the winding road to the top of Tapatio Cliffs Resort and prepare to be wowed by the 180-degree views from the window-wrapped restaurant and expansive Cliffside patio. Cruise up just before dusk to catch an amazing sunset view or go for a nightcap and get lost staring at the city lights below. The food and service are top-notch -- they wouldn't have been given the AAA Four Star Diamond Award for the past 21 consecutive years if they weren't serving up some of the best food with... More »
The Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs is perched on high, looking down on Phoenix below, and A Different Pointe of View lets you soak up the desert vibes in a fine-dining atmosphere. Although we recommend sunset for some of the most stunning vistas, there isn't a bad seat in the house any time of day. The outside patio also is a lovely option, provided you aren't afraid of heights, with a huge fire pit and fountain for a bit of extra ambiance. If you want to catch the unforgettable vistas without... More »
It goes without saying that the view, like real estate, depends upon location, location, location. It also goes without saying that most businesses that invest in the view don't have enough money left to invest in the food. Such is not the case with Different Pointe of View, located on top of an 1,800-foot mountain just north of Thunderbird Road. You can enjoy this spectacular outlook while sampling from a wine cellar stocked with a mere 86,000 bottles; more than 800 different wines are... More »
The views from this place are pretty enough to eat. We're standing on the patio, mesmerized by the panorama of the Valley from 1,800 feet above the desert. When we move inside for dinner, we take the beauty with us, seated next to floor-to-ceiling windows framing a stunning Arizona sunset. After dinner, we collect for drinks on a gorgeous patio, decorated with a fire fountain and scads of flowers, the flames sending shadows dancing across the virgin mountainscape that cradles the resort...
