Description

Since it launched in 1990, this specialty bakery has probably wished "Happy Birthday" to thousands. Its lineup of pastries, cookies and petit fours showcase the ingredients beloved by satisfied customers. There's cream puffs and eclairs, chocolate-dipped strawberries, fruit cobbler and cheesecake. Custom wedding cakes are its bread-and-butter, though. Those creations are wrapped in chocolate and decorated in fresh flowers for the big occasion. The spare, simple shop is open Tuesday through Saturday. We like the sign that hangs behind the counter: "Life is short. Eat cookies first."
