Westword's Description

Opened in March 2011, the 1up LoDo is an arcade, bar and restaurant. Located just half a block from Coors Field, the place features more than thirty vintage arcade games, all from 1985 and earlier, including Pac-Man, Tetris, Galaga, Mortal Kombat and Tron. Named after the green mushroom that you earn in Mario Brothers when you get the free guy, or when player one is up at the start of a game, the 1up has two lanes of Skee-Ball, eight pinball machines and a display case full of vintage home-game consoles. The bathrooms are tricked out with vintage arcade art, and a mural behind the stage area was done by Jason Garcia, one of the live painters with STS9.

This is a nerds heaven. Classic arcade games from the mid 90's on up made me feel like a teen again. The nice quality bourbon they had behind the bar balanced out the nerdy childlike feeling with the opinionated booze snob within me. A great place. I wish there was more places like this in other cities (including Phoenix.)
